500 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, India

The lasting impact of a teacher is the unshakeable positive belief they plant in a student’s heart.
A 500-hour yoga teacher training is the complete, master-level path to becoming a yoga teacher — combining the foundational 200-hour and the advanced 300-hour trainings in one immersive stay. You arrive as a dedicated practitioner (no prior certification needed) and leave eligible to register as an RYT 500 with Yoga Alliance USA — the highest standard teaching credential.
Your 58-day journey with us unfolds in three movements. First, the 200-hour foundation stage builds your base in practice and the essentials of teaching. Then comes a rest and integration week — time to let the learning settle, deepen your self-practice and explore Rishikesh. Finally, the 300-hour advanced stage takes you into subtler territory: advanced asana and pranayama, the bandhas, deeper philosophy and refined teaching methodology.
As with everything we teach at Pure Soul, the focus stays on the why behind every posture, breath and philosophy — so you graduate teaching from understanding, not imitation. On completing both stages and their assessments, you receive two certificates — your 200-hour and 300-hour — which together qualify you to register as an RYT 500 and teach anywhere in the world. Your final morning is the certificate ceremony, a celebration you will remember.
The Journey — Your 500 Hours in Two Stages
Your training follows the official Yoga Alliance structure of both credentials we hold — the RYS 200 and RYS 300 — delivered as two stages with a rest and integration week between them. Here is how your 58 days unfold:
Stage 1 — The 200-Hour Foundation (about 3 weeks)
- Techniques, Training & Practice (75 hours): asana across Hatha, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Yin and Restorative styles, pranayama, meditation, mantra and cleansing practices.
- Anatomy & Physiology (30 hours): how the body works in yoga — bones, muscles, joints, breath and the nervous system.
- Yoga Humanities (30 hours): the history and philosophy of yoga, key texts, ethics and the yogic lifestyle.
- Professional Essentials (50 hours): teaching methodology, sequencing, cueing and your first supervised practice teaching.
- Stage 1 assessment and your 200-hour certificate.
Rest & Integration Week
- A deliberate pause between the stages — rest, journal, deepen your self-practice, and let three weeks of learning settle.
- Explore Rishikesh at your own pace: the temples, the mountains and the evening Ganga aarti.
Stage 2 — The 300-Hour Advanced Training (about 4 weeks)
- Advanced Techniques, Training & Practice: inversions, arm balances and deep backbends; advanced pranayama (Kapalabhati, Bhastrika, Anulom Vilom, Sheetali, Ujjayi, Nadi Shodhana); the Mula, Uddiyana and Jalandhara bandhas.
- Advanced Teaching Methodology: voice modulation, demonstration, and designing classes for every level.
- Deeper Anatomy & Physiology applied to advanced practice and injury-safe teaching.
- Yoga Philosophy, Ethics & Lifestyle: Karma, Bhakti and Jnana yoga; ethics for teachers; philosophy in modern life.
- Practicum: supervised practice teaching with personal feedback, mentoring workshops, yoga nidra and chakra meditation.
- Stage 2 assessment and your 300-hour certificate.
Certification and Assessment
- Each stage concludes with written exercises, a practical asana test and a supervised teaching demonstration.
- You graduate with two certificates — 200-hour and 300-hour — which together make you eligible to register as an RYT 500 with Yoga Alliance USA.
