95 Hour Kids Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, India

Trainees learning playful kids yoga teaching methods in Rishikesh

Children are the heart of our future, and supporting them on their journey of growth is one of the most meaningful ways to create a balanced, kinder world.

The 95-hour length of this course is no accident — it is Yoga Alliance's exact standard for a Registered Children's Yoga School (RCYS) training. Pure Soul Yoga School holds the RCYS credential, which most yoga schools do not — so the certificate you earn here follows the official international standard for teaching yoga to children.

Over 12 days in Rishikesh, you will learn to teach yoga in a way that matches a child's curiosity and energy: age-appropriate asanas, creative breathing methods, games, storytelling, partner activities and relaxation practices that help children connect their bodies, breath and emotions. You'll understand children's physical and emotional needs at every stage of growth — from toddlers to teens.

At the end of your training, you take a final assessment of your knowledge and practical teaching skills. On passing, you receive your 95-hour completion certificate — and if you already hold a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, you become eligible to register with Yoga Alliance USA as a Registered Children's Yoga Teacher (RCYT).

Daily Schedule

Daily Schedule of Kids Yoga Teacher Training

Our kids yoga teacher training follows a daily rhythm: a calming morning meditation and pranayama, followed by energising asana practice and afternoon sessions where you learn to connect with children through games, stories and teaching practice.

Ample breaks are included for rest, reflection and nourishment, giving your body and mind the space to absorb and integrate each day's learning fully.

Course Syllabus

Course Syllabus of Kids Yoga Teacher Training

Our curriculum follows Yoga Alliance's official RCYS structure — covering child development, techniques, teaching methodology, anatomy, philosophy and supervised practicum — and brings it to life with the games, stories and playful methods that make children fall in love with yoga.

Anatomy of Kids Yoga

  • Learn how a child's body grows including bones, muscles and joints, to make yoga safe and age-appropriate.
  • Understanding the concepts of energy, such as chakras and nadis, in a way that children can easily understand.
  • Practice safe alignment and simple modification for kids of different ages.
  • Teach human anatomy in simple and fun ways to help children become aware of their bodies and develop healthy habits.

Understanding the Secrets of Kids' Yoga

  • Explore how children grow mentally and physically through both Eastern and Western approaches.
  • Learn how to guide yoga practice for each age group — early childhood (18 months–4 years), primary (5–14 years) and secondary (15–18 years).
  • Early childhood focuses on fun movement and basic body awareness; primary years build strength, balance and flexibility; teens develop endurance, focus and a deeper understanding of yoga principles.
  • Understand how children's bodies differ from adults and learn how to meet their needs at each stage of development.

Breathing Techniques

  • Learn how to teach children simple, engaging breathing methods that help them tune in to their bodies and calm their minds.
  • Lead playful breaths such as Ocean Breath, Bear Breath and Dragon Breath — techniques made easy and fun.
  • Teach children how breathing influences mood, energy and overall health through interactive sessions.

Asana Practice for Kids

  • Learn to teach engaging yoga poses that build flexibility, strength and mindfulness — each with a playful name that makes practice joyful:
  • Boat Pose (Naukasana) — the rowing boat
  • Bow Pose (Dhanurasana) — the angelfish
  • Cat Pose (Marjaryasana) — the jaguar
  • Bridge Pose (Setu Bandhasana) — the bridge over the river
  • Chair Pose (Utkatasana) — the kangaroo

Teaching Methodology

  • Learn to plan safe yoga classes according to children's needs.
  • Learn to use verbal and visual cues effectively to enhance understanding.
  • Develop presence as a compassionate teacher who inspires and motivates students.
  • Explore some of the best music to complement classes and enhance the learning experience.

Meditation and Mindfulness

  • Help children develop calmness, focus and emotional balance through joyful meditation practices — gratitude, inner stability and emotional awareness.
  • Learn to teach simple meditation methods such as Snowman Relaxation, Rainbow Meditation, Magic Book Relaxation, Magic Forest Meditation and Bouncing Ball Mindfulness.
  • Explore how meditation music — ocean sounds, deep relaxation tracks and chakra-healing music — creates a peaceful practice environment.
  • Learn to adapt Yoga Nidra for kids through imaginative storytelling tailored to different age groups.

Yoga Philosophy

  • Learn to introduce yoga through simple ideas children can relate to — how yoga connects us with nature, trees, animals, birds and everything around us.
  • Learn how ancient yogis lived in forests and caves, what they observed in nature, and how these experiences shaped yoga as a way of life.
  • Learn the eight limbs of yoga, including yama, niyama and swadhyaya.
  • Understand the importance of yoga, its benefits and why it is considered an ancient science.

Exciting Yoga Activities for Kids

  • Make yoga playful and exciting with games that build strength, focus and creativity:
  • Freeze Dance: children move and dance to music — when it stops, they freeze in a yoga pose.
  • Yoga Race: children race from one point to another performing specific yoga poses, individually or in teams.
  • Yoga Challenge: simple challenges such as holding a balance pose or linking poses creatively.
  • Silly Train: children form a train, lightly holding onto one another, moving through postures together.

Nutrition for Kids

  • Learn how to introduce healthy eating to children simply and engagingly, so they can apply it in daily life.
  • Understand the role of fruits, vegetables, grains and dairy in building a strong body.
  • Explore age-specific nutritional guidelines that support growth and development.

Q and A Sessions

  • Interactive sessions where all participants, including teachers and students, can ask questions and clarify doubts.
Where This Course Takes You

  • Adapt every practice safely to a child's developing body, and communicate with parents and schools confidently.
