95 Hour Kids Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, India

Children are the heart of our future, and supporting them on their journey of growth is one of the most meaningful ways to create a balanced, kinder world.
The 95-hour length of this course is no accident — it is Yoga Alliance's exact standard for a Registered Children's Yoga School (RCYS) training. Pure Soul Yoga School holds the RCYS credential, which most yoga schools do not — so the certificate you earn here follows the official international standard for teaching yoga to children.
Over 12 days in Rishikesh, you will learn to teach yoga in a way that matches a child's curiosity and energy: age-appropriate asanas, creative breathing methods, games, storytelling, partner activities and relaxation practices that help children connect their bodies, breath and emotions. You'll understand children's physical and emotional needs at every stage of growth — from toddlers to teens.
At the end of your training, you take a final assessment of your knowledge and practical teaching skills. On passing, you receive your 95-hour completion certificate — and if you already hold a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, you become eligible to register with Yoga Alliance USA as a Registered Children's Yoga Teacher (RCYT).
Course Syllabus of Kids Yoga Teacher Training

Understanding the Secrets of Kids' Yoga
- Explore how children grow mentally and physically through both Eastern and Western approaches.
- Learn how to guide yoga practice for each age group — early childhood (18 months–4 years), primary (5–14 years) and secondary (15–18 years).
- Early childhood focuses on fun movement and basic body awareness; primary years build strength, balance and flexibility; teens develop endurance, focus and a deeper understanding of yoga principles.
- Understand how children's bodies differ from adults and learn how to meet their needs at each stage of development.
Breathing Techniques
- Learn how to teach children simple, engaging breathing methods that help them tune in to their bodies and calm their minds.
- Lead playful breaths such as Ocean Breath, Bear Breath and Dragon Breath — techniques made easy and fun.
- Teach children how breathing influences mood, energy and overall health through interactive sessions.
Asana Practice for Kids
- Learn to teach engaging yoga poses that build flexibility, strength and mindfulness — each with a playful name that makes practice joyful:
- Boat Pose (Naukasana) — the rowing boat
- Bow Pose (Dhanurasana) — the angelfish
- Cat Pose (Marjaryasana) — the jaguar
- Bridge Pose (Setu Bandhasana) — the bridge over the river
- Chair Pose (Utkatasana) — the kangaroo

- Explore how meditation music — ocean sounds, deep relaxation tracks and chakra-healing music — creates a peaceful practice environment.
- Learn to adapt Yoga Nidra for kids through imaginative storytelling tailored to different age groups.
Yoga Philosophy
- Learn to introduce yoga through simple ideas children can relate to — how yoga connects us with nature, trees, animals, birds and everything around us.
- Learn how ancient yogis lived in forests and caves, what they observed in nature, and how these experiences shaped yoga as a way of life.
- Learn the eight limbs of yoga, including yama, niyama and swadhyaya.
- Understand the importance of yoga, its benefits and why it is considered an ancient science.

- Yoga Race: children race from one point to another performing specific yoga poses, individually or in teams.
- Yoga Challenge: simple challenges such as holding a balance pose or linking poses creatively.
- Silly Train: children form a train, lightly holding onto one another, moving through postures together.
Nutrition for Kids
