The Space to Go Deep

Yoga & Ayurveda Retreat in Rishikesh, India

Ayurveda Retreat in Rishikesh, India

Yoga is the practice of quieting the mind and Ayurveda is the art of nourishing your entire self.

At Pure Soul Yoga School, our Ayurveda retreat in Rishikesh, India, is where ancient healing meets mindful living. The 7-day programme (any length can be customised) combines daily yoga, pranayama and meditation with the personal guidance of a qualified Ayurvedic doctor — so your healing is built around your body, not a fixed menu.

Your programme begins with a consultation with our Ayurvedic doctor, Dr. Bhupinder Singh Arora (M.D. Ayurveda), who performs a dosha assessment to help you understand your body's unique constitution — Vata, Pitta or Kapha — and personalises your treatment accordingly. When the doctor is not on-site, this consultation is held online before any treatment begins.

From that consultation comes your personal Ayurveda plan: dietary guidance, daily routine and the therapies the doctor recommends for you — from warm-oil Abhyanga and herbal steam to a prescribed Panchakarma detox on longer stays. You add only the treatments your body actually needs, which keeps your retreat both honest and affordable.

In between, you'll reconnect with nature in the most beautiful ways — peaceful walks alongside the Ganga, unhurried mornings and practices that help you slow down, breathe deeper and find yourself again. Every meal, therapy and mindful practice brings you closer to a state of harmony and radiant well-being.

Course Syllabus

Curriculum of Our Ayurveda Retreat in Rishikesh

At Pure Soul Yoga School, our Ayurveda retreat in Rishikesh is a journey of rejuvenation and rediscovery. In our Ayurveda programme, you will explore the ancient science of healing that restores harmony between the body, mind and soul.

Fundamentals of Ayurveda

  • Explore the secrets of Ayurveda by knowing its origin, philosophy and the science behind it.

Analysis of Dosha and Body Constitution

  • Identify your dosha (Vata, Pitta or Kapha) through an assessment with Dr. Bhupinder Singh Arora (M.D. Ayurveda), and discover how to balance it with specific foods, routines and habits.

Ayurvedic Therapies & Treatments

  • After your consultation, the doctor recommends the treatments suited to your constitution — from warm-oil Abhyanga massage to herbal steam therapy — added to your stay only as your body needs them.

Panchakarma — Deep Ayurvedic Cleansing

  • For those seeking Ayurveda's deepest detoxification, we offer doctor-prescribed Panchakarma programmes. The exact protocol and duration are decided by Dr. Arora after your consultation — most complete programmes need a longer stay, which we customise around you.

Yoga & Pranayama Practices

  • Participate in daily yoga and pranayama sessions designed to complement Ayurvedic healing — improving your blood circulation, flexibility and energy flow.

Mindfulness & Meditation

  • Practice mantra chanting, meditation and nature-based mindfulness to promote your inner peace, concentration and self-awareness.

Detoxification and Cleansing Techniques

  • Learn traditional Ayurvedic cleansing methods, practised for centuries to support the body's natural cleansing processes and promote a feeling of lightness and vitality.

Workshops

  • Engage in group Q&A sessions with our expert doctor and reflective activities that encourage self-discovery and personal growth.
Where This Course Takes You

What You'll Take Home

An Ayurveda retreat is not a spa week — it's an education in your own body. You leave with:

  • Your dosha, understood — what Vata, Pitta or Kapha means for your food, sleep, energy and moods, assessed personally by an M.D. Ayurveda doctor.
  • A written personal Ayurveda plan — dietary guidance and daily routine (dinacharya) you can actually follow at home, not generic wellness advice.
  • A daily yoga and pranayama practice matched to your constitution and level.
  • A rested, lighter body — most guests notice deeper sleep and calmer digestion within the first few days.
  • Clarity on the deeper work: if Panchakarma or further treatments would serve you, you'll know exactly what, why and how long — from the doctor, not a sales page.
Graduation Is Only the Beginning

Benefits

Benefits of Attending an Ayurveda Retreat

When life feels heavy and your energy seems scattered, what you need is not another quick fix but deep, patient healing. Here is what a week of Ayurveda, yoga and rest can give you:

Improved Mental Clarity and Focus

Daily meditation, pranayama and a screen-light routine clear the mental fog that busy life builds up. Guests often describe the feeling as 'thinking in full sentences again' — decisions come easier when the nervous system is rested.

Better Digestion and Metabolism

In Ayurveda, digestion (agni) is the seat of health. Dosha-specific meals, regular meal times and the doctor's dietary guidance give your digestive system a genuine reset — and teach you how to keep it working well at home.

Restful Sleep and Emotional Stability

The retreat rhythm — early mornings, calming evening practice, lights off by ten — retrains your sleep naturally. Deeper rest steadies the emotions; many guests tell us this is the first week in years they've woken without an alarm.

Stronger Immunity and Natural Healing

Ayurvedic therapies, nourishing food and rest work together to support ojas — your body's natural vitality and resilience — instead of overriding symptoms, strengthening the systems that keep you well.

Lasting Lifestyle Transformation

You leave with a written personal plan — what to eat, when to rise, how to structure your day for your constitution. Small, sustainable changes that continue working long after you fly home.

Spiritual Awakening and Self-Connection

Between mantra chanting at dawn, meditation by the Ganga and unhurried silence, the retreat opens space for the deeper questions — and for simply being with yourself again, without agenda.

Deep Detoxification and Rejuvenation

Traditional cleansing practices, sattvic food and doctor-recommended therapies help the body release what it has been carrying — and for those ready to go deeper, doctor-prescribed Panchakarma programmes offer Ayurveda's most complete purification.

Ayurvedic Care You Can Trust

Meet Dr. Bhupinder Singh Arora — Our Ayurvedic Doctor

Dr. Bhupinder Singh Arora - Ayurveda M.D. and Panchakarma specialist

Every health-focused program at Pure Soul Yoga School is guided by Dr. Bhupinder Singh Arora, who earned his M.D. in Ayurveda from Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Pune, and has been practising Ayurvedic panchakarma for 16 years.

He has served as an honorary professor and adviser to well-known institutions and is the former Head of the Panchakarma Department at SLN Ayurvedic College, Amritsar. Rooted in traditional Ayurvedic lineages, he is known for his pulse diagnosis (nadi pariksha), leech therapy and panchakarma treatments, which have benefited patients across India and abroad.

How your consultation works

  • Before any Ayurvedic treatment begins, you receive a personal consultation with the doctor to assess your constitution (dosha) and health needs.
  • When the doctor is available on-site, your consultation happens in person. If he is not on-site during your stay, your consultation is held online before your treatment starts — no treatment is given without it.
  • Therapies are then personalised to your body and comfort level, and our team checks in with you throughout your program.

Health note: Our retreats and therapies are intended to support general well-being. They are not a substitute for professional medical diagnosis or treatment. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or take regular medication, please consult your physician before booking and share your health details with our team in advance.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an Ayurveda retreat?

An Ayurveda retreat is a residential wellness programme based on Ayurveda, India's ancient system of natural medicine. At Pure Soul, that means daily yoga, pranayama and meditation, dosha-specific sattvic meals, a personal consultation with our Ayurvedic doctor, and treatments prescribed for your individual constitution — all in the peace of Rishikesh.

How much does the Ayurveda retreat in Rishikesh cost?

The 7-day retreat with a private en-suite room is $499 for international guests and ₹45,000 for Indian guests — including all meals, daily yoga and meditation, your doctor's consultation and one complimentary massage. Longer stays and Panchakarma programmes are quoted personally: send us your dates and you'll have your quote within 24 hours.

Are Ayurvedic therapies included in the price?

Your consultation and one full-body massage are included. Further treatments are prescribed by Dr. Arora after your dosha assessment and charged separately — deliberately, so you only pay for the therapies your body actually needs rather than a one-size-fits-all package.

Do you offer Panchakarma in Rishikesh?

Yes. Dr. Bhupinder Singh Arora (M.D. Ayurveda) has 16 years of Panchakarma practice, and we offer doctor-prescribed Panchakarma programmes. The exact protocol and duration are decided after your personal consultation — complete programmes usually need a longer stay, which we customise around you with a personalised quote.
